There's nobody that knows the ins and outs of your condo better than you, so once you make the decision to sell it, your first task should be to sit down with your real estate sales representative and document all the fabulous features of your unit, your building, and your surrounding area so that your listing showcases them right up-front.


Highlight all the perks of condo living — and your condo in particular — with the following tips.

  • On-site amenities like gyms, party rooms and pools are a huge part of the appeal of condo living. Of course, prospective buyers will be touring whatever amenities your condo boasts, but prominently displaying — on your kitchen counter, for example — a copy of your condo's current newsletter and/or events schedule for buyers to see during showings can really help them to understand all that life in this particular condo has to offer.

  • Even those buyers who aren't drawn to condos due to the beautiful views they offer often end up buying because of them. If you have a good view, play it up. Make a focal point of it by rearranging your furniture so as to direct attention to your windows. Consider new window treatments; at the very least, make sure your curtains or blinds are wide open and windows are sparkling clean for showings. Lastly, strategically place mirrors where they'll reflect your lovely views.

  • If your condo is convenient to many services, amenities, and facilities, write a brief note to buyers telling them of local gems they might not otherwise know about. Your real estate rep can help you tailor your note to the kinds of buyers most likely to be looking at your property. Young professionals? Mention that local bar that's always hopping at happy hour. Retirees? Brag about the area's best golf course.
